Ethiopia extends support to the people of Somaliland administration hit by drought
Tigrai Online, February. 26, 2017

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia announced on its face book page that the Ethiopian government is delivering food aid to the people of Somaliland who are hardest hit by drought across the Ethiopian border. This act by the Ethiopian government is what we need in the Horn of Africa region. People helping each other in a critical time like this.

The Ethiopian Foreign Affairs said, “Following the declaration of the existence of serious drought conditions in parts of the Somaliland administration, the Government of Ethiopia has donated over 7200 quintals of emergency food assistance and 26, 667 cartons of milk to the region. Although parts of Ethiopia are also hit by the recent drought, the decision to support Somaliland has been a testament to the good neighborliness and longstanding fraternity between the peoples of the two sides.”
We support the government’s effort to bring about regional integration and permanently close the doors for outsiders trying to sneak in to the region create animosity and destabilization. However the Ethiopian government needs to clean up their house very soon to lead by example. If Ethiopia wants to assert itself as a regional leader, it needs to cut the cord from those who are dragging the chain of repression and fake history.
It has to be clear to those who are trying to reverse the Ethiopian federal system back to the old days of one ethnic, one religion, one history, and one language that will never happen again. The people in the countries around Ethiopia are closely watching what is happening inside Ethiopia and if we are deporting each other from our states why on earth would they consider economic integration with Ethiopia?
